What is Studio Art at WVU like?

Description

The Masters of Art in Studio Art promotes advanced study in ceramics, graphic design, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture or time-based art. MA studio art students are required to produce a written thesis and, at the graduate committee's discretion, may be required to hold a thesis exhibition. The 36-hour, non-terminal studio degree can be completed in two years.

What are the requirements to apply for Studio Art at WVU?

University Requirements

To be eligible for admission into a graduate program at WVU an applicant must submit official, bachelors degree transcripts from a regionally accredited institution and hold a GPA of at least 2.75.

WVU operates decentralized admissions. Decentralized admissions allows each graduate program to set its own application requirements in addition to the University requirements.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the Studio Art graduate program an applicant must submit the following documentation:

  • Statement of Purpose
  • Résumé /CV
  • Letters of Recommendation - Two

  • Please contact the Administrative contact for further information regarding the portfolio requirements.

Applications that are incomplete or are submitted after the deadline may be reviewed if openings remain.
